SINGAPORE : The US military is tracking a North Korean ship that media reports said is heading for Singapore.The Kang Nam departed from a port in North Korea on Wednesday and is suspected of carrying weaponry, missile parts or nuclear material. Responding to media queries, Singapore’s Foreign Ministry said Singapore takes seriously the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and if the allegation is true, the ministry said Singapore will act appropriately. The Kang Nam is the first vessel to be tracked under new UN sanctions passed last week which bans shipments of arms and nuclear and missile technology to and from North Korea.

TOKYO Studies have shown that chubby people live longest for example someone who lives to 40 years old which is chubby will have a longer lifespan of 7 years than people who are skinny.And being skinny is dangerous.Arguement that said people said thin people died early because they have sickness or they smoke but they eliminate these factors but results still shown chubby people live longer than thin people.So Being fat isnt a bad thing after all:D So mocking at people that are fat is absoulutely wrong...So stop is lor=X

The 21—year—old Indonesian was a final year Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He had allegedly stabbed his project work supervisor, Chan Kap Luk, before falling to his death in March this year. The two witnesses knew Widjaja before they entered NTU. Both of them met him at a Mathematics Olympiad programme in Indonesia. One of the witnesses is Edwin Lesmana Tjiong, who noted that Widjaja once told him that he found the final year project hard and troublesome. The court also heard he and Widjaja attended the same church located in the Queenstown area. Tjiong said Widjaja used to be regular churchgoer but he started to attend services less frequently shortly before his death. The second witness, Nolang Fanani, who had recently graduated from NTU, said he last saw Widjaja on the morning of his death as they were walking along a corridor. Fanani said Widjaja appeared normal. Both witnesses said Widjaja had never spoken to them about Associate Professor Chan. They were also kept in the dark about his scholarship termination

Ms Sophia Pang has got her own "mountain" to climb :the 36-year-old mother of three will be part of an eight-woman team that will trek to south pole in December. She will attempt to plant a Singapore flag ok New Year"s Day 2020 at the southernmost point on earth along with her team mate from Brunei,Cyprus,Ghana,India,Jamacia,New Zealand and Britain.The eight are taking part in the first Commonwealth Wolen"s Antartc Expedition, a 40-day mission which marks the 60th anniversary o fthe Commenwealth.The success of the Singapore Women"s Everst Team has been an inspiration to Ms Pang. "They have been role models,proving to women that it can be done.I hope to be the next,and they have made me even more determined to succeed," she said. The expedition aims to feature the achievements of women around the world and promote inter-cultural understanding.The South Pole was picked to highlight enviromental and climate change issues. Ms Pang chanced on an application form for the expedition online last August and founs it strange that it had no questions about an applicant"s fitness or addventure experience."All they asked me was:As a woman,what message do you want to bring forth to the women in your country.Being someone"s daughter and also a career women, I think I make a good representation of the women in Singapore."When she submitted the application, er 12-year-old daughter, Inez said it would be a miracle if she were chosen."She thought it was something that I would never do.But if you don"t try, you will never know,"said Ms Pang,who also has a son,Javier,10,and a four-year-old daughter,Kyna.Her 40-year-old-husband runs a family buisness in telecommunications,and they live in a private apartment in Serangoon. She beat more than 70 Singaporean applicants for the coveted spot early in March. The freelance information technolofy consultant and aerobic instructor has,since last month, been clocking one-hour sessions of at least three times a week at the Singapore Sports Medicine Centre,which is sponsoring her training.The session involve strength training and pulling a sledge on concrete ground loaded with 120kg of weights. She is expected to haul over 80kg of food and gear during the trip,which covers a gruelling distance of 900km over snow-covered terrain in extreme temperatures of minus 40deg C.She has to ski the entire way.Previously, the only skiing Ms Pang, the sole mother in the team, had done was the holidays in korea."My biggest challenge will be the mental focus.During the trip, we will be repeating the same actions over and over again.There may be"whiteouts" and we won"t see anything for a long time,"she said.SHe even sought the advice of adventurer Khoo Swee Chiow,45, who skied to South Pole in 1999.He said"The scenery at the South Pole doesn"t change everyday.You need that determination to pull through the end."He thinks Ms Pang has a high chance of success, if she keeps up her physical training and the team"s morale."The No.1 challenge will be the cold and how to avoid frostbite.
